“Lied one Wrote Op.109” was composed around 1845 and was published for the first time after his death. It was designated opus 109 and entitled Song Without Words. It is not related to any of the piano pieces that are so famously known.  Cellist Carlos Prieto called the piece “an exquisite composition, worthy of the finest pieces Mendelssohn ever composed for this genre.”

Jakob Ludwig Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (3 February 1809 – 4 November 1847), born and widely known as Felix Mendelssohn was a German composer, pianist, organist and conductor of the early romantic period.
